And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will show you the judgment of the great whore that sits upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Revelation 17: 1-5

And he said to me, The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the women is that great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.  Revelation 17: 15-18

Babylon was an ancient center of trade, and rich in wealth and merchandise. Mystery Babylon is therefore 'symbolic' of a great nation existing in the end times which possesses enormous wealth and is also the center of world trade. The women represents a great city which rules over the kings and nations of the Earth, because of it's domination over the global economy. The whore represents it's merchandising. The waters represent the nations of the earth through which the U.S. conducts trade. New York City and Wall Street now dominate the global economy, and the United States, and the Dollar, have been the center of world trade since World War II. This coincides perfectly with the Biblical description. 

We find reference to global financial and economic troubles in the final days before the arrival of the Kingdom of God. Through some calamity, also involving strife with the Ten Kingdoms of the Middle East, Babylon, and it's global economy represented by the whore that sits upon many waters, is brought to ruin in the final days. "For in one hour so great riches is come to naught. " and "The merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buys their merchandise any more." The (merchants of the earth) describes a global economy "And (no man buys their merchandise anymore)" describes a global economic collapse. Rev. 18: 11.

And the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. Revelation 17: 16-17. The whore represents Mystery Babylon, which controls merchandizing and the sale of goods to the entire global economy. The Ten Kingdoms give their power and strength to the Beast Empire, while at the same time work to destroy the Great Whore, it's economic system. How is this possible? If the Ten Kingdoms hate the whore, why do they give their power and strength to the Beast? 

The Ten Kingdoms now exist within eight nations of the Middle East. Most of these Ten Kingdoms give their power and strength to the United States by virtue of oil, and the fact that oil is traded only in U.S. Dollars, making the U.S. Dollar the world's reserve currency. This gives the United States it's power as a global empire. At the same time, U.S. involvement in terrorism, and regime change, coupled with the wars, and military occupation of Iraq, and Syria, and the economic sanctions against Iran, and the U.S. alliance with Israel, and Saudi Arabia, are causing great animosity and hatred of the United States and it's financial/military empire. This is the cause of a rising insurgency within Middle East Nations, that increasingly seek to destroy the United States and it's global empire. In so doing, this will somehow bring about the demise of the U.S. global economic system. 

How this transpires is still ongoing in current events. It could be the result of a war with Iran, also involving both Russia and China, at a time when the U.S. financial and economic system is already in a state of collapse, and a war finally brings the system crashing down. It could be the result of a combined effort between allied Muslim Nations to expel the United States from the Region, or the result of economic changes from Chinese/Russian economic and military influence in the region. It could be all of the above. However it happens, it's already becoming clear that the United States is losing it's grip on the Middle East, and is fast becoming an enemy of the Shiite Muslim Nations, while at the same time siding with Israel, and the Sunni Muslim Nations, which are sworn enemies. This puts the United States right in the middle of a religious war, and a power struggle for regional supremacy, that could very well result in a collapse of the U.S. financial system. This is a wait and see scenario that is still in the works and for which the final end remains to be seen.
